Bill Devine was an accountant and financial advisor from 1985 until he founded Mutual in 1989. He oversaw the growth of Mutual, a company that specializes in retirement savings plans for employees of school districts, police organizations, and municipalities, working with over 200 school districts and managing over $1 billion in assets for more than 10,000 clients. Given Mutual’s focus on the school district market, Mr. Devine has been very active in school superintendent organizations and also served on the Suffolk BOCES district consolidation Board.
After selling Mutual in 2000, Mr. Devine bought the firm back with partner, Ray Menna, in 2005. Together they, through partnerships with PlanMember Securities and U.S. Retirement Partners, lead the premier K-12 financial services organization on Long Island.
Mr. Devine received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/ Accounting from Hofstra University. He holds Life and Health insurance licenses, as well as FINRA Series 7, 63, and 24 registrations.
He has always been active in athletic organizations, coaching travel baseball and soccer, and has been co-chairman of the Mt. Sinai Booster Club Golf Committee for 10 years. He also served on the Endowment Board of Hope House Ministries. Mr. Devine is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Suffolk County Police Athletic League, after having been named their Man of the Year in 2008.
