Mr. Toney Chimienti began his career in the insurance industry with Prudential in 1974. He later joined Colonial Life & Accident Insurance, where he worked for 20 years before retiring as their Northern CA Regional Marketing Director. To this day, Toney remains one of Colonial’s all-time Top Producers, with many awards for sales production and agent development. He was responsible for opening and implementing the first Section 125 Plan in the City and County of San Francisco, along with the State of Nevada, that generated tens of millions of dollars of premium for Colonial Life.
In 1998, after years of being in the Voluntary market, Toney and his wife, Cathy, started Chimienti & Associates Insurance Services (CAIS), a Full Service Managing General Agency that would represent a large array of the top Work-Site Carriers. In 2000, Toney began working with an innovative team at Hourglass Systems to help develop an HRIS eligibility system for the enrollment and eligibility tracking of both core and voluntary benefits. After the core system’s development, CAIS invested capital in developing a lap-top enrollment system to support the HRIS system, along with a Call Center and Internet based Self-Serve Enrollment System, which was successfully delivered to the marketplace.
Toney has continued to work through his whole career with public sector clients, and specializes in the unique product and service needs of County and City Governments and other large group employers. He has been recognized by his peers through his induction into the Worksite Hall of Fame. His many contributions to the refinement of products and services for his clients is an industry standard by which many in the field strive to equal.
